Style Strategy: What do I have?

I just finished reading the first part of the book by Nina Garcia, ‘The Style Strategy’. Frankly, this book was meant to be given to my friend (not to mention she needs some inspiration to look more stylish :D).

The first day the book stayed in my room, I purposely went through it and found it quite interesting. Sooo.. I decided to own the book hehe.. *am so sorry, girl.. next time ill buy you another one..*

Basically, the principal of style strategy is ‘to buy less, choose well, and mix it all’.
All we need to do is to list down :
What do we have
What do we need
What do we want

In order to know what do we have, we have to take two steps:

Taking Inventory
This is the hard part. We need to really see what do we have in our wardrobe and decide what to do with each item. As you look at each garment, you should decide whether you want to keep it, get rid of it, alter it, or mend it. Please pay attention if you find your garments are made with great fabrics, good tailoring, and surely expensive, they are worth to be kept.

Saving the Basics and Saying Goodbye
Now you must figure out what is missing from your wardrobe.  What you need is to have the basics. For women, the example item that must have is classic white shirt, little black dress, denim, cardigan, a great bag, flat shoes, and classic high heels.
Don’t bother saving anything that just doesn’t fit you anymore. You won’t get thinner unless you wear clothes that truly fit to you.

After learning about what do we have, the next stage is to define what do we need and want. Hope you can find this useful J

Hello World

Hello world, i'm Shiddiq, you probably noticed the guy with red-orange hair in the previous post, yep that's me, thx Hana for the post and avatars by the way. :D

So, about us.. I honestly can't really pinpoint the exact day or even month of our first encounters, but i guess that's the thing with college, right? You just can't be sure of edges of events, they always seem to blend together, blurred under the joy of being an old child and the excitement of becoming a young adult. Well at least that's what it felt like for me, hehe, what about you? :D

Apparently the story of how we met didn't ever really matter, we turned up alright.. I guess.. Hahaha :p
You know when a group of friends often has this one guy who is a mess and just ruins everything but the rest of you were stupid enough to stick with him hoping one day he'd change? Nah, that's in movies :)), we don't have that person, everyone of us seems to be kind of righteous from the beginning (haha, yes, that includes me guys.. :p) which is a privilege for me. :) I believe i won't be like i am now if i didn't find you guys,haha.. :') not that i'm saying i am a success now or anything, haha, but i could be worse.. :p

So yeah, through a little less than four years of home works, exams, karaokes, out-of-town trips, cafes, broken hearts, movie theaters, malls, etc a.k.a college we found or, in better words, invented ourselves. The vast kinds of attitudes and interactions among us made it even more interesting.. :)) You can find a character that i believe would be suitable to be called 'inflammable', but only when there is abdominal abnormality.. :)) And then there is this pair of boy-girl that quarreled with each other more often than not but still looked so romantic that made us, to this day, think that they might end up together someday.. ;)) and many more that'd be too long for this introductory post. :p Let's just wait for the others to have a say themselves.. ;p

I think i never did formally thank this group of people to make college less unbearable for me.. :)) to help with home works and exams, my g.p.a was all you guys.. :))) to still talk, tell stories, and listen even though i'm shy and not as open as you guys, haha (sorry for this.. :p), and to always be there when i need you. So here, thank you guys for everything!! :') I really hope that, unlike most of your latest relationships :)), this long distance friendship will last forever. :D

At present time, around 5 years later, as Hana mentioned in the previous post, you may say that we're now an international group since most of us are not in our home country Indonesia for the moment.. :)) nevertheless, we keep in touch, we talk, we gossip, we skype, we send postcards, haha, thx to the internet mostly.. :p One thing that we haven't really had time to do, no matter how we planned this over and over again since years ago, is to travel together once again, haha, sounds weirdly simple.. :)) not so though, it was Phuket the first time, then someone mentioned Japan (two of us are there) but then one of us got accepted to Korea and so it was changed again and then 5 cm the movie was out and i thought Mahameru could be nice, not so easy though, haha. Yeah we're not sure now, so i guess this should be our prime resolution this year? :p

That being said, i want you all of our readers in the whole world (yeah, right..) to raise your glasses and say a toast with me to mark the start of this fabulous blog: to friends, and their magical existence. ;)

Cheers,

Shiddiq.

And the transmission begins...

There was an old wise man said,
Good friends are like stars, you don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

Couples years ago, we had been together day by day. Living separately from our parents (well,, some of us still stayed in their parent's home) made us think that this is gonna be the friendship-that-will-last-till-the-end-of-time.

But then, we were so naive. Now, see what happens to us:

We hope we can share our stories, spirits, and dreams through this blog..

Hope you enjoy it!

Oh ya,, and happy new year 2013, all ... !
